Nail bed discoloration?

I have researched online and never have found an answer. What is it when the nail be is normal up to the tip near the end of the nail (tips) except there is a line that goes left to right that is slightly more pale. The lines are on all nails, the lines do not move and they are about 1-2mm in size. Looks kinda like there is a red line that goes across, but it is really the cut off where the lighter shade begins......hope I was clearNail bed discoloration?
